Know the skills- learn how to iron your clothes properly:
- Double the iron’s heat:
The more your iron is heated the more quickly you finish ironing. But the question is how to double the iron’s heat? Simply place an aluminium foil paper on the iron board and place your iron over it. Aluminium tends to reflect the heat waves and let your iron get double the amount of heat.
- Be careful:
But be careful, that this too much heated iron may not burn your cloth or cause damage to yourself. Use it carefully and according to the nature of cloth. If you are to apply ironing on silk clothe then use low heat and there is no need t place aluminium foil under iron. If you are going to iron cotton cloth then you can use maximum heat.
- Iron inside out:
If you are ironing a shining clothe especially in dark colors like black or dark brown then iron them from inside out. Because doing so will protect from sheens on the dress.
- Follow order:
Follow order and iron the things step by step in the recommended order. Like iron collars, cuffs and button tapes first and then follow the remaining shirt. Keep the ironed area straight to avoid waves and wrinkles.
- Do it straight:
Do remember that, the proper way of iron strokes is to apply iron in back and forth manner instead of circular strokes. Because the circular strokes cause stretching in your clothes and shorten its life span. So give back and forth strokes straight away.
- Avoid flattening your style:
If you have embroidery of any design on your dress and you don’t want it to get flatten by ironing. Then place a towel on ironing table and then place your design part on that towel to iron. This will protect your design from flattening.
- Keep your iron plate clean:
The deposits and black dust layer can cause damage to your clean clothes while ironing. Clean your iron daily by using baking soda mixed in hot water, apply it on hot iron and rub with a brush. That will remove all the sticky deposit from your iron plate. Do this practice almost every week.
- Hang them:
After ironing hang your dresses quickly in your closet. So that your hard work may not get spoiled by a single mistake. So as soon as you iron a piece, get it hanged on some hanger or anything you use to get your clothes hanged.
- Keep them apart:
Make sure your hanged clothes are not hanged so close to each other that they cause wrinkles to each other. Keep them spate from one another by keeping enough space among all the hanged dresses. If you have not enough room then separate them by hanging papers between two dresses.
