Cinnamon is a spice acquired mostly form the inner bark of south Asian tree, like from Sri-Lanka, Seychelles, Madagascar and Indonesia, which produces 95% of world supply. It has great benefits in protecting diseases like diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease, fungal infection and HIV etc. It can be very well help defensing you in cold season. Especially cinnamon with honey is my precluding cold and flu remedy, it not only reduces your cold but also prevent you from future cold viruses. It is like the powerful immune booster which is effective in fighting internal and as well as external infections, and not to forget, it also helps you warm up in winter seasons too.
Cinnamon cocktail can help you warm up in winter season
Cinnamon use dates back thousands of years as Egyptian, Greeks and Roman utilized it as spice, perfume and natural remedy. However, in the new era of medical and technology, doctors have found cinnamon helpful in healthy digestion too. It is also being used as culinary purposes as which I believed have started since the human adopted horticulture. Also serving as spice in our daily life.
Today, we typically used two types of commercial cinnamon:
- Cassia cinnamon is primarily produced in Indonesia and has stronger smell and flavor, it is of cheaper variety, we usually buy this on grocery stores
- Ceylon cinnamon is more expensive having milder and sweeter flavor, and very popular for both baking and flavoring hot drinks such as hot chocolate or coffee. It is mostly produced in Sri-Lanka.
Winter season is like a tree branched with diseases, like sore throat, painful joints, and dry skin while the longest and most bounded branches are flu, cold and caught. Sometime it’s like we want to get rid of cold season due these difficulties, but if we apply homemade remedies seriously, I am sure, we can get rid of these stubborn diseases and enjoy winter season at our best.
Cinnamon is very effective in winter season due to its natural properties of preventing from cold, caught and flu. If mixed with honey, it can become sweet liquid, having a great taste. Honey contain properties such as anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-microbial while cinnamon is equally beneficial as it contains anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and antioxidant properties, whereas these two together can reduce severity of your cold, making super healing combination. The latest research shows that honey and cinnamon combination can accelerate your metabolism lowering cholesterol, but you should consult your doctor before applying any weight lose method.
Hot chocolate, hot coffee combine with cinnamon could be used as syrup, while mixing cinnamon in the warm cocktail or those with flavor profiles matches winter season is often used, it can warm all of your winter, but relatively high dose of cinnamon can be a toxic. Because it is unproven treatment, there is no established dose, some recommended 1 or 1½ teaspoon of cinnamon powder everyday but should first consult medical practitioner.
Add it with different non-alcoholic cocktail such as Apricot Gingering, Vienna Soother, Virginia’s Punch, fine-wolf and other fruit mixed cocktail. Free of sugar can also help in your weight loss program while other fruits can be notorious and healthy. As Vienna Soother is said to be as “wake me up chocolate” and alternative of iced coffees.

Cinnamon is something not only serving as spice or is capable of reducing weight, prevent cancer, anti-fungal, virus fighter, immune rooter, food preservation and all of the other abilities discussed above, but also helps you warm up.
