Coffee, the most favorite morning drink over the globe. The rate of people starting their day with coffee is reaching about 180 million. According to medical sciences this is an alarming rate of people who have become addicted to it. This is an un-deniable fact that coffee has many advantages for your health like it cause weight loss, remove kidney stones and Parkinson’s disease. But besides all its benefits it has serious disadvantages to human health, especially to those who are regular drinkers and are addicted. Here I have compiled many health disadvantages that a regular intake of coffee can cause to your health. Disadvantages of drinking coffee daily:
- Coffee and HCL:
A healthy stomach is the key to healthy life.
Coffee has chemicals that tend to cause HCL production when you take in empty stomach. Usually that happens in morning when you take a cup of coffee empty stomach and leave for office. HCL helps in food digestion, especially protein digestion in stomach. When you take in coffee empty stomach HCL produce and when you eat food there is not enough HCL remained for the digestion of food. That cause in-digestion of proteins and this protein when go undigested in small intestine that cause many health problem even colon or small intestine cancer. So if you are addicted to coffee, take after eating something to avoid serious stomach problems.
- Ulcer and acidity:
Irritated stomach is the root cause of every disease.
Coffee contain a chemical compound “Caffeine” that irritates the sophisticated walls of your intestines and excessive intake cause various infections such as ulcers and acidity. Long term intake can cause serious problem like spasms and cramps. So avoid excessive intake of coffee if you need a happy life.
- Heart burn:
“Excess of anything is wrong”.
Excess caffeine cause acid reflux that means when you take in caffeine in excess amount it irritates esophageal sphincter that cause acidic reflux back in to your esophagus. Frequent reflux back cause severe heart burn and un-comfortability. According to latest researches not only caffeine and HCL that release due to the presence of caffeine but other compounds in coffee cause severe heart burn and acidity.
- Coffee as laxatives:
Coffee is the most important drink that is when taken during constipation let you go ahead to bathroom. The chemicals in coffee cause intense peristalsis movement that cause your food to pass quickly through stomach to small intestine in improper digested state. That inhibit nutrients absorption from semi digested food. This state leads to weakness and sometime cramps.
- Coffee- kidneys and mineral absorption:
Heavy and regular drinkers of coffee have the problem of not getting enough minerals through their diet because caffeine tends to retain minerals such s iron, Mg and Ca in kidneys and stop them to get absorbed back into blood. Mg is a good mineral for the proper bowel movement. Many people are already deficient in Mg and are facing slow bowel movements and excessive intake of coffee increase this problem in them.
- Coffee- Acrylamide:
Coffee is a source of acrylamide which is a carcinogenic chemical. This carcinogenic chemical is reported to be the major cause of intestinal cancer in America. This compound form when coffee beans are roasted at high temperature. The more they are roasted the more acrylamide is formed and the more they are cancerous to health.
So if you are addicted to coffee I recommend you to take a half or one cup a day. Use white or less roasted coffee beans. Last but not the least, take coffee after eating something.
